Townes Holland
Government Relations Director
Townes Holland joins Checkmate Government Relations with extensive experience spanning the Trump Administration, Capitol Hill, and political campaigns.
Most recently, he served at the U.S. Department of the Treasury as an Advisor to the Assistant Secretary for Financial Markets, Director of Intergovernmental Affairs, and Lead Advance Representative for Secretary Scott Bessent both domestically and abroad. Prior to his Treasury roles, Townes held positions in the White House as Assistant to the Deputy Chief of Staff and as a Policy Advisor on the National Security Council, where he focused on homeland security issues.
During the 2024 election cycle, Townes served as an Advance Representative on President Trump’s campaign, helping organize and execute large-scale rallies, town halls, and other major campaign events across the country while serving as a primary liaison to the U.S. Secret Service.
Earlier in his career, Townes served as Deputy Campaign Manager for Congressman Russell Fry’s successful campaign and later as Member Services Director and a member of the policy team in the Congressman’s office.
A native of South Carolina, Townes earned a B.A. in Political Science with a minor in Public Relations from the University of South Carolina. He enjoys golf, tennis, fishing, hunting, and spending time with family and friends. Townes also serves as a member-at-large on the South Carolina State Society board
